When I am sitting and waiting for a call I find that it is a lot of fun to listen to my iPod. Of course as a Providence, Rhode Island police officer it is something I have to do carefully. Most of the time I use it to relax between calls when I am in the office. It was a gift from my son who decided that his “old man” needed to come up to the 21st Century. That’s another story for a different time. Anyway, my son gave me the iPod for my birthday because I was always asking to listen to his when I came home from work. He finally decided that I needed my own. iPods are a wonderful device and downloading music is a great thing. I like my iPod because I secretly like classical music, and I can download so much from the Internet with it. You don’t always like to let the guys on the force know that you like all types of music because they might get the wrong impression. As I was leaving the office the other day I met with a bit of wrong timing. I was headed out, another law officer was headed in with a particularly difficult perp and I dropped my iPod. In the scuffle it got kicked around pretty bad. I really didn’t want to get another iPod so I went home and looked on the Internet for iPod parts. I was able to find a couple of repair iPhone places that did iPod repair. I was very surprised at this because I would not have thought that this small a device would be able to be repaired. I sent it away and it was repaired quickly; it was so fast that I didn’t need to tell my son. One of the things we are taught as cops is to be prepared for anything. I wasn’t really paying attention when I was walking out the door because I was happy about leaving that day. I was so tired! I was therefore; glad to find out that the iPod repair was available to me. I did buy another iPod though. Although I know that my iPod or iPhone repair can be done at any time I just feel better having more than one in case something happens to one of them. I just love my music!
