For most of my life, I had called Manchester, New Hampshire, home. After I got out of college, though, I decided to try my luck in another city – Franklin – at a possible job opening. My dad knew a guy that knew a guy (you know how that goes) who was able to put in a good word for me. So, it was off to Franklin, where I learned right away that I don’t adapt to change well. The sales clerk was very helpful, assisting me in getting all the forms signed and going over everything required. I walked out a happy person, with my new IPHONE and a new job on the horizon. Unfortunately, however, my joy was short-lived. As soon as I got outside, it started to rain. I panicked and tried my best to protect my new IPHONE by jogging to the car. I slipped in a puddle though, and went sprawling across the parking lot. My brand new phone flew out of my hands landed right on the hood of my car before sliding down and slamming into the concrete. When I picked it up, I realized the water hadn’t seemed to have damaged anything… it had been the fall by itself. My screen had a huge crack right down the face… I didn’t know what to do, so I took it back inside the mall and asked the clerk that had helped me buy it if she knew of a place she had used to buy IPOD video battery where I could take it. So… I took her advice when I got home and managed to find the website. I packaged my IPHONE up and mailed it off the very next day. To my complete surprise, it only took a few days before I got the phone back – as good as new. It was unfortunate that I broke it so quickly, but it did teach me a lesson about the rain: don’t run in it.
