My mom had friends in Glenfield, North Dakota, that she wanted to go visit one summer while we were all on break (a sort of vacation, if you could really call it that). So, we packed up our bags and everything and left our little city of Harkinson for the long road ahead of us. While waiting, I decided to get out and stretch my legs; walk around a little bit and ease the pains of a long journey. I brought my phone with me, “texting up a storm” as my mom put it. I was talking to my best friend when I suddenly heard something coming toward me. I looked up just in time to catch sight of a huge dog hurtling upward – right at my face. My first thought was that I was being attacked and screamed out for help. The next instant, the dog had me pinned and was licking my face like crazy. He’d knocked the cell phone out of my hands and I could see it, lying there on pavement – broken. By the time my mom pulled the dog off, I was sopping wet with dog spit… But it was a cute dog. We managed to find the owner a little ways away and gave him back, then set off again on our travel.
