It was perfect. It summed up this entire, blasted heat wave with such utter complacency that I instinctively reached for my camera… but I couldn’t find it. Horrified, I realized that I had left it at home. I’d just been going to the grocery store, after all. On the brink of panic, I suddenly remembered my IPHONE. I whipped it out and shot a couple of frames – just in case, then went to put the phone back in my pocket. My hands were a little sweaty, though, and I somehow lost my grip on the phone. Disappointment turned into terror as I thought of losing my valuable picture. The sun was gone now, it was too late to go home and get my camera. I didn’t know what to do… So I drove back to my place and got online.
