Yoga to Improve Strength?

Thursday, March 4th, 2010

For any regular exerciser, yoga is a must because it gives you the strength and stability that your body needs for balance. If you regularly run or lift weights, you’ll be happy to start integrating yoga into your regular exercise plan to promote flexibility and even more strength. If you don’t know where to begin, try out the Yoga Stretch iPhone app, which gives you five different yoga sessions to work with. You can program your own music from your iTunes list, which allows you to make a perfect yoga music playlist for relaxation.

These yoga postures will improve balance, strength, and flexibility, and the app works as your own personal yoga instructor. There is even audio commentary available to give you further guidance in executing all of the poses correctly. The pre-loaded Yoga Session works with 60 minutes of different yoga poses for stretching and relaxation. You can also turn on or off the commentary that tells you to transition in all of your poses. The bottom line is that this is the opportunity you have been looking for to enhance your workout and get even greater results in strength. Until you try yoga, you may not realize that yoga is harder than you think!

Use Your iPod To Exercise

Girl-BikeIt definitely can be difficult to get motivated when you are trying to start a new workout program, and I was having a problem staying on track, until I downloaded an upbeat playlist to my iPod to listen to while I worked out. I seriously had tried everything to stay motivated in my workout, like hiking with my dog, running intervals, or doing different activities, but I was beginning to think that I just wasn’t a work out person.

However, I did want to get in shape for my health and also to look good in my clothes, but I was at the end of my rope. Finally, I read this blog that was talking about using music to motivate you when you work out, and that it was proven to work. I have always listened to music when I worked out, but I never took the time to put some work into my playlist so that it was completely motivating for me. I figure that this could be my last resort if I wanted to stay in shape, so I got onto iTunes and found a bunch of upbeat music that I really enjoyed. This was exactly what I was looking for to help me stay on track and enjoy my work outs once again!

iFitness From The iPhone

Weight training in a fitness centerThere is no better time to start working out than now, so check out iFitness to give you the jumpstart you are looking for! This is seen as a personal trainer app, and it is incredibly popular at the iTunes store. It is pretty much geared toward beginner exercisers who want clear and simple instructions on what to do during their gym time. You can find individual exercises, or you even have the ability to create your own custom work out routine.

One great thing about this application is that it will give you easy convenience in being able to browse different exercises that are categorized by which muscle group they target. There is also a full list of exercises in alphabetical order, but if you want to go to the gym and work out your arms that day, for example, then you can look at all of the arm and upper body exercises listed in that category to make sure that you are on the right track. Again, I have to emphasize how easy it is to be fit when you have simple tools to help you out. If you can’t afford a personal trainer or simply want to try to tackle the task on your own, then this application will give you that extra bit of guidance you need.
