Has Anyone Seen Notorious?

Wednesday, September 30th, 2009

notorious-big-3(1)I have always been a fan of the Notorious BIG, and I feel that it is completely tragic that he died at such a young age. This is exactly why I wanted to download the movie Notorious so that I could watch it on my iPod video. It wasn’t the greatest movie on the planet, but I still enjoyed seeing how he came to be an all-star rapper, and I always love to hear his music. I thought that it was especially funny how P.Diddy was portrayed in the movie as his younger itself. P.Diddy is always so full of himself these days, so it was also interesting to see how he got his start.

This movie inspired me to download even more Notorious BIG music onto my iTunes so that I could have a complete playlist dedicated to him. For anyone who likes some old school rap, then you definitely should download the movie Notorious so that you can watch it at home or on your iPod video. It’s totally worth watching if you are a lover of rap music and historical music artists. You may be pretty interested to know how Biggie got his start, and what type of life he led before that time!

Fall is Upon Us

Friday, September 25th, 2009

tony-romo-dallas-cowboysI absolutely love the fall season for many reasons. One of the biggest reasons is, of course, football. I am an avid football fan, and I have spent a serious amount of time looking up the Cowboys football schedule on my iPhone. This is the biggest benefit of having the iPhone as a football fan because you can obsessively check out football information, no matter where you may be. This is not something that my wife is too pleased about, but she’s used to it by now. Often times, when we are out to dinner, I will be looking up scores or the times of the football games in the week.

Anyhow, football is one of the great bonuses to fall in general, and I always look forward to the fall season beginning specifically for this reason. Don’t get me wrong, I also love the leaves changing, cooler weather, and Thanksgiving, but all of those things basically spell out football for me. My whole family is full of football fans, so I guess that is where I got it from. I just love being able to sit back and relax on the weekends, eat some great food, and watch a Cowboys game!

iPhone App To Save Your Pet

Wednesday, September 23rd, 2009

puppy-cute-baby1If you are a pet lover, then you definitely need to check out the Pet First Aid application that will help you if you ever have an emergency with your pet. It can be pretty scary if something happens to your dog or cat, and you don’t know what to do. That is why this iPhone application was developed by PetTech to prepare you for any type of crisis.
It makes it easy for you because there are 14 different categories, and they all will cite specific symptoms and how to troubleshoot health issues with your pet. It also will give you details on preventative tips and how to administer first aid to your pet, if necessary. Some of the categories include burns, bites, emergencies, breathing, heart, fractures, and what’s normal. This is going to help you immensely if your pet has eaten something or been injured in any way, and you are unsure about the effects on their health. The information found in all of these categories does have full video instructions and illustrations to help you to understand in detail what to do for your pet if they are in danger. This is helpful to make sure that you can keep your dog or cat protected for a longer and healthier life!

iPhone Shazam Gives You The Answers!

Monday, September 21st, 2009

RF244491I have always considered myself to be the advanced version of a musical library because I know so much random trivia. I don’t know why, but musical knowledge over the years has truly stuck with me, so I can always tell you which 80s band sang which random 80s song, and so on. In fact, whenever my friends and I go out to listen to live music, I can normally tell within the first few bars if it is a cover of Janis Joplin’s “Bobby McGee” or some other obscure song. It is an impressive skill, which I use to my advantage, that is, until I discovered Shazam…

I guess you could say that the iPhone application Shazam is my nemesis because it is something that you can hold up to any type of music, and it will tell you the artist, song, and album that comes from. This is a really cool feature, but it also is depressing for someone like me who prides herself in knowing a ridiculous amount of random music trivia. I guess I can learn from Shazam because it can tell me some songs that I don’t even know, which I can later use to impress my friends in the right context.

Lunch: The Midday Miracle

Friday, September 18th, 2009

lunchLunch is absolutely my favorite time of day, and did you have any idea that you can now order your lunch directly online? This seems to be the way of the future. I will tell you the truth, I normally will take my lunch with me to work, unless I don’t have time and am forced to buy fast food. However, some people in my office did start ordering their lunches online, so they didn’t even have to lift a finger, and the lunches were delivered to them directly.

Actually, they did have to lift one finger to click the mouse to get their lunches ordered, but that was about it. I decided to weasel in and get in on the action, and I actually started ordering my lunch directly on my iPhone. They order from a little place down the road that has a bunch of different sandwiches, salads, and soups for lunch. I started getting on the website via my iPhone and ordering my lunch myself. This is such a convenient option, especially for someone who wants a fast and delicious lunch. I’m getting pretty sick of fast food myself, so I was more than happy to find this advanced and wonderful option available to me in lunch delivery!

I Hate Spam!

Wednesday, September 16th, 2009

antispamThis is going to sound like a cranky old man blog post, but I absolutely hate spam. I conduct a lot of my business when I’m out and about, so my iPhone is like my right hand. I can’t tell you how inconvenient it is when I am trying to look up information regarding a client that I’m about to visit, and then I only have an inbox full of spam. On top of that, can I vent for a little bit and talk about spam filters?

Every reputable e-mail system does need to have spam filters set in place so that you do not receive Viagra junk e-mails over and over again, but the inconvenience that this has caused me is that I often will have a client’s bulk e-mail go directly to my trash so that I never receive it. This has made me paranoid so that I check my trash all the time to make sure that I don’t mess up on an interaction with a client, but I absolutely hate the fact that it has to be this way. Who started spamming in the first place? We should find that person and shoot them because I hate having to deal with spam on a daily basis!

Can a Burger Be Healthy?

Monday, September 14th, 2009

burgerYou wish! Actually, with a little bit of planning you can actually have a relatively healthy burger, which seems almost impossible in America these days. I was reading some interesting dietary information online on my iPhone, which I will often use to check the calorie counts on food items. This is really convenient because I always have my iPhone with me, of course, and if I want to see how many calories are in a certain item, then I can look it up on my iPhone to troubleshoot so that I don’t end up eating something that is too bad for me.

Ironically enough, if you are going to go to a restaurant to get a hamburger, then it could be much worse for you than even going to a fast food joint. For instance, if you like Outback, (and who doesn’t?) and you try their Bloomin’ Burger, then that could be almost 2000 calories for you! This is the recommended amount of calories to have in a day, so that is an enormous no-no if you are not trying to gain weight. If you are dining at Outback, then you’re much better off enjoying one of their smaller steaks, which will be around 600 calories.

Glee On My iPhone

Friday, September 11th, 2009

Glee_logoI’m getting very excited for the new fall lineup, and I have been watching all of the new previews everyday before work on my iPhone. One cool preview for a new fall TV show that I watched recently is Glee, which I have to admit that I was skeptical about at first. I don’t always know how I feel about high school shows because the characters are usually unbelievable, especially since they are much older than high school in real life. However, I was impressed by this show when I was watching the first teaser episode on my iPhone because it has a lot of fun music, which is something that always grabs me.

Even though these kids are supposed to be in a dorky glee club, they sing a lot of popular songs, so it makes the show pretty interesting. I think I am going to end up being addicted to this show after all, especially from what I have seen when I downloaded it to my iPhone. That is all part of the fun of the fall lineup because you get to check out new TV shows to see whether or not they float your boat. I’m just glad that I have an iPhone to watch them on!

iPhone Weather Updates

Wednesday, September 9th, 2009

rainLuckily, I live in a place where the weather is quite consistent – hot, hot, hot! Still, it does rain it from time to time, and when it rains, it pours. That is why I am so glad for the technology of my iPhone because I don’t even have to get online on my computer at home to see what the weather is going to be like. A lot of times when I am getting ready for work, I will be rushing like crazy because I am the type of person that wakes up at the last minute. I always hit the snooze alarm, and my wife gets sick of me barely making it to work on time.

Still, since I do use public transportation, I need to know the weather forecast for the day, just in case I need to bring an umbrella with me. That is why my iPhone is so useful because all I have to do is check the weather in my area as I am walking out the door so I can decide whether or not I need an umbrella or jacket for the day. Like I said, I live in an area that has very warm weather, but it also can be unpredictable!
